Under12 Red vs Camberwell Scorpion Final 8 to 5. Chaddy closed out the season on a high note with a win. The boys and girls held control throughout the game. The Red squad passed the ball well throughout the game; and also did a great job picking up ground balls. The MVP award would go to Jason for his great work on defence. Encouragement award - Luca.
-
Under12 Gold vs Footscray Final 14 to 10. Footscray have been one of the most consistent teams in the competition this year so for us to beat them was a sign of how we are going and the numbers of assists show we are learning to combine well as a team. Good effort and season by all players. MVP Louis Osborne and Encouragement to Zac Peeler.
-
Under18 vs SEC18 Final 9 to 9. The U18 men finished the season with a draw against a tough SEC18 side. The men would start the game slow and be forced to come back from a large deficit. Despite poor play in the first half, the Chaddy boys fought back in the third and fourth quarters to seal the draw. The MVP award would go to Johno Lowe for his great play on offense despite this being his only game in U18's on the season. Encouragement would go to Luke Egerov.
-
Men Division 1 vs Camberwell Final 26 to 6. Close encounter in first quarter 4 to 3 and then we ran away with it and sealed second position. A great effort with many contributors. Joint MVPs - Steven Lane and Hayden Dekker and Encouragement to the whole team.
-
Men Division 2 vs Caulfield Final 12 to 8. The win today sealed 4th spot and a birth in the finals. A close tussle most of the day and we got away from Caulfield in the last quarter. Some great passages of ball movement by the attack guys - young and old. Also some great stops by DJ and solid D for most of the day. MVP Matt Weinman, Encouragement to Luke Egerov.
-
Men Division 3 vs Altona Final 3 to 17. As a club, our hats go off to the 9 guys that played for us in Div3 against Altona at Altona on Saturday. Always up against it with 9 players the team competed all day and made the sacrifice so that we had stronger teams in our higher grades who both needed wins to keep in finals positions. A superb effort by Alex Freeman who scored all of our goals. His efforts were noticed by the umpires too. MVP Alex Freeman, Encouragement to Anders Wong.
Week 18 - Sat 14th & Sun 15th August
Saturday
-
Under12 Red vs Eltham Durham Final 13 to 11. The Red boys and girls played some of their best lacrosse of the season in a great win against Eltham Durham. Highlights on the day were great defense by Jason along with some awesome offensive play by Olivia. The team looks to finish out the season with a win next weekend. Olivia would be named MVP, while Jason would take home the Encouragement award.
-
Under12 Gold vs Williamstown Fearon Final 11 to 6.
-
Under14 vs Altona Final 25 to 10. The U14 boys ran over Altona in a fitting finish to the season showing some great team play. The guys didn't make the finals however they beat one of the sides in the finals and improved out of sight from last season. MVP Ethan for his 2 goals and 4 assists. Encouragement Richard Dotter for a solid effort over the whole day.
-
Under16 vs Malvern Final 3 to 15. Played against the team that are the favourites for the title this season. In complete slush at Malvern the guys fought all day but were out classed. Some solid efforts by the D poles Rory and Alex. Looking back at the season the team played with more belief in themselves and their team play, so lets celebrate a season of improvement and a better one next year.
-
Under18 vs Footscray Final 8 to 9. Close but not quite! The guys were again down against Footscray and couldn't make the most of a few late chances to send the game into overtime. Harry Pendock and Rob Collis played well in D and Alex Freeman, Filip Cosic and Jarryd Purdie were key scorers.
-
Men Division 1 vs Surrey Park Final 20 to 8. Chaddy came out of the blocks firing and really set the scene for the game and put a lot of pressure on Surrey Park's defense. Some really fluent ball movement that paid dividends on the scoreboard. Daniel Mentiplay had a great game and led all scorers. Great effort by the mid-fielders one and all. D was strong and kept shots to a minimum.
-
Men Division 2 vs MCC Final 5 to 9. This game was transferred to Chadstone after MCC's ground was not deemed unplayable. Both teams played well, with MCC having too much firepower for Chaddy down the stretch. The game was soured by the serious injury to Jarryd Purdie who broke his ankle.
-
Men Division 3 vs MCC Final 1 to 9. In a scrappy encounter we just couldn't put enough passes together or take advantage of our opportunities to get a score on the board. Luc Egerov contributed all day and Alex Butler had a solid effort as did Jesse who was a rock in defence.
Sunday
-
Under13 vs Footscray Final 2 to 6. In the final game for the season we showed that we can run with any teams in the competition. A few brief lapses early and late in the first half was the difference in the scoreline in what was a tight encounter. A great season for the girls and look forward to next season.

-
Under14 vs Footscray Final 10 to 17. The U14 boys played top of the ladder Footscray and scored the most that has been scored against Footscray this season. This was a must win game to get into the finals and although we didn't get a win all players can hold their heads high after a great effort.
-
Under16 vs MCC/Caulfield Final 14 to 8.
-
Under18 vs Williamstown Final 2 to 16.
-
Men Division 1 vs Footscray Final 21 to 3. Very scrappy performance early as Moreland came out and played defensively with a six man zone. They were assisted by a number of unforced errors in our attack which handed the ball back to them. However, great work in the draws gave us plenty of forward attacks and we began to move the ball quicker and got better scoring outcomes. Positives from the game were there all over the field with improvements - in man up conversions, good team face offs, a tight defence.
-
Men Division 2 vs Footscray Final 11 to 12. We gave Footscray a start and then had to play catch up lax just failing to get over the line going down by one. We need to focus on tighter team defence to reduce scoring opportunities for the opposition. The positive was the team twice fighting back from being behind and almost pulling off a win.
-
Men Division 3 vs Bendigo - we were given a forfeit
Sunday
-
Under13 vs Eltham Final 10 to 2. Great effort and contributions from the whole team. Scoring and assists were spread across six players and defense was solid not allowing Eltham to get into the game.
-
Under15 (Eltham) vs Newport Team 1 Final 6 to11.
-
Under17 (Footscray) vs Williamstown Team 1 Final 20 to 3.
-
Womens A grade vs Newport Final 8 to 6. We had control of the game early and grounded out a great win. Six scorers showed how even the team's offense played and Michelle dominated the centres. Sarah Macary was a rock in goals. Laura Tabbagh scored her first goal for the season in great style. Sarah Butler lead all scorers with 2 and 3. A great effort from players that have mainly played B grade this season to step up and look right at home. Encouragement award to Millie and MVP to Sarah Butler.

-
Under12 Gold vs Malvern Black Final 11 to 9. the Gold team continues to win, despite playing in several close games the last couple of weeks. This weeks opponent was a Tough Malvern Black Squad. In a close game Chaddy would come out on top. The team was also undermanned due to several key players out to play up with the U14's as well. Louis O. would do a great job of contributing to scoring with three assists, earning him the Encouragement award. Other standouts on the game would be Harry Lowe and Angus Wood on the offensive side of the ball, and Josh Takurua on defense. Josh would be named MVP.
-
Under14 vs MCC Final 17 to 18. The U14 boys lost to MCC in a heartbreaker this weekend. This game was close from the first to the last quarter with Chadstone falling just short. Chadstone outscored the home team in the fourth quarter but could not even the score. The Chaddy boys spread out the scoring between lots of players, but high scorers would be Jordy V., Cal Smythe, and Nick P. The boys look to rebound next week with a win against a tough Altona team. MVP would go to Jordy, Encouragement would be awarded to Ben Peeler who came up to play from the U12 Gold team.

-
Under18 vs Eltham Final 9 to 6. The U18 men picked up their biggest win of the season with a physically and mentally draining game against Eltham. Todd Manning played well throughout the game by taking face-offs, playing great defense, and doing what coach Whiting needed. Todd would take home the MVP. Brent Freeman played a great game after a week off, which would earn him the Encouragement award.
-
Men Division 3 vs Eltham Final 7 to 0. Div3 would fall to Eltham this weekend after last week's big win against Knox. Despite the loss there are several great things that can be taken out of this game. The Div3 side had a handful of juniors that played up this week, which is always great for the development of young players.
Sunday
-
Under13 vs Newport Final 4 to 9. Good efforts by Laura, Jenny and Alex but we let too many goals through on the day. Ups and downs are always going to happen girls so keep at it.
-

-
Under17 (Footscray) vs Williamstown Team 2 Final 10 to 0.
-
Womens A grade vs Williamstown Final 21 to 2. An undermanned Chadstone side put a a valiant effort against the top team Williamstown. We had many players unavailable and had to rely on the involvement and courage of some juniors girls. Many of these juniors were playing their first senior game just to help us out with numbers and thank you to all of them.
-
Womens B grade (CC Gold) vs MCC 7 to 3. First win for the year and a great way to top off the season. Well done and a pleasure following the development and growing self belief of so many players. Harry Lowe was dominant on offense scoring five goals and two assists. Ben Peeler did a great job of moving the ball on offense while gathering three assists on the day. MVP went to Connor, and Steven Bettoni would earn the encouragement award.
-
Under14 vs Williamstown Final 21 to 16. The U14 boys picked up a huge win this weekend in a high scoring game against Willi. There were seven different scorers for Chadstone, with Jordy Richardson leading all scorers. Nick Pennell and Cal Smythe would also play notably well on the offensive side of the ball. Jordy would take home the MVP for his offensive efforts. Encouragement would go to Ryan Perry for a good game in goal.
-
Under16 vs Footscray Final 6 to 8. The U16 Redbacks lost in a nail biter to Footscray this weekend. This low scoring affair would be close throughout. The Trewern brothers have played consistently well on offense, with Jono Lowe playing well all over the field.
-

-
Men Division 1 vs Melbourne Uni Final 16 to 14. The Div1 Men travelled to Melbourne Uni Saturday to play in a contest that would be much different than the first time the two teams met. The game was an evenly matched bout that would require extra time to decide a winner. Jarryd Lee played a great game between the pipes, garnering him Encouragement honors. Matt Savage, Hayden Lee, Dan Mentiplay, and Taz Berrington would all score at least three goals each to lead the offensive assault. Dan Nifong would prove to be Lee's biggest help on Defense, earning MVP honors for Chaddy.
-
Men Division 2 vs Eltham Final 20 to 6. Travelling to Eltham would prove to be very troubling for the Div2 Chaddy boys. Playing against an Eltham squad that featured two ex-Australian players, on what could only be described as a very poor ground, would be too much for the Redbacks to overcome. Eltham came out strong in the first quarter and continued throughout. The Redbacks look to bounce back against Moreland next weekend in a must win game. Dan Beinke would be named MVP and Ben Sinclair would be given the encouragement award.
-

Saturday
-
Under12 Red vs MCC Blue Final 15 to 3. The Chadstone Red team won in decisive fashion against MCC Blue on Saturday. The team played their best lacrosse of the year with solid passes, shots, ground balls, and notably great clears. It is hard to attribute the victory to just a few players; because it was such a great team effort. Kit Stewart played a great game on not only offense, with two goals, but a great game on defense as well with great play on the ball. Olivia Rowland led all scorers with 2 goals and a whopping six assists, while Izzy Pennell had five goals and two assists of her own. Luca Manfield was a rock in goal earning him the encouragement award. Kit would be named MVP.
-
Under12 Gold vs Footscray Green Final 14 to 6. The Gold squad unfortunately suffered a tough defeat to Footscray Green, who is sitting at the top of the ladder. Footscray started off strong, and Chaddy could never catch up. Considering how tough of an opponent this Footscray club was, these boys having nothing to hang their heads over. Malvern was a top four side on the ladder, who was just too powerful in the fourth quarter. The game was an offensive struggle, with both sides netting 10+ goals. Kale Murphett, who normally plays in the field, played a brilliant game in the cage for Chaddy. Kale would be awarded the MVP for Chaddy. David Sampson, who tallied an assist, would be given the encouragement award by coaches Hayden and Matt.
-
Under16 vs Williamstown Final 4 to 13. After an even first quarter, and a 3-2 halftime score, Willi would pull away in the second half and escape Treyvaud Memorial Reserve with a win. Under18 vs SEC 18 Final 19 to 8. The U18 men would avenge an early season loss to the SEC 18 squad in decisive fashion. The team continues to play great lacrosse heading into finals time. Despite the very lopsided score, the game was actually very close early on, with both sides trading scores throughout the first half. The Redbacks came out of the gates in the second half on fire, pulling away from the opponent. We saw a great return from Josh H., who has been away travelling. Josh would be given the encouragement award. Luke Egerov, who continues to excel no matter where you place him on the field would be named the MVP.
-
Men Division 1 vs Malvern Final 20 to 2. The Div 1 men continue to blowout opponents, with their latest victim being Malvern. Chaddy would be in control throughout the entire contest. In only his second game with the team, Dan Nifong continued to play great defense while fitting in well with the team and the game plan. Dan was given the encouragement award. Matt Filliponi and Ron Ricketts would combine for eight goals, with four goals apiece. The rest of the scores would be derived from an all around great team offensive attack. Ron would be garnered MVP honors.
-
Men Division 2 vs Williamstown Final 8 to 14. Top seeded Williamstown traveled to Chaddy on Saturday and got all that they could handle from Chaddy. Willi handled the Redbacks in the last meeting between these two teams, but Saturday's game would be much different. The score's were 4-4 at the halfway mark, and 7-5 Willi at the end of three quarters. Willi would prove to be too much in the fourth quarter for Chaddy to keep up. Danny Burr netted a hat-trick in his best game of the season, and Dave T. played great on defense. Taylor Berrington would be named MVP and Dan Beinke would be given the encouragement award.
-
Men Division 3 vs Surrey Park Final 10 to 2. Despite a tough loss to Surrey, the Div 3 side had several highlights on the day. Sunday

-
Womens B grade (CC Gold) Vs Altona 3 to 6. Awesome effort and really hard to compare the team now with the team at the start of the season when basically everyone was new to the game. Missed a few attempts and hit the cage a couple of times. That was really the difference in the score line and teams overall. Lauren did well scoring all three goals. MVP Amanda and Encouragement - Georgina,

Game was neck and neck until the last quarter then Moreland, with a couple of extras subs, got across the line. MVP - Jarryd Lee.

Men Division 3 vs Eltham Final 0 to 23. Eltham must have expected big things from us having Tim Fry playing for them in their 4th team after he played in the NLL All Star game last year! Down on numbers and with 3 new players Jesse Collins and the guys showed some heart but were always up against it. MVP - Michael Remilton.

Womens A grade vs Newport Final 5 to 11. Score was 4 all at half time and without subs we basically couldn't keep the pace going. MVP - Sally McDaniel.
-
Womens B grade (CC Gold) vs Camberwell Final 0 to 20. Played the side we played in the B Grade final last season which was always going to be tough. We never gave up and our second game players even got some shots on goal and can only improve with more game time. MVP - Linda Ho.
